Our New Director
Lichfield Arts is delighted to announce the appointment of Dave Simcox as its new permanent Director.
After a rigorous recruitment process the Lichfield Arts’ board of trustees selected Dave from a number of high quality applicants. He takes over from Chris Newcombe who stepped down as Director at the end of 2012.
Dave has been a regular volunteer for many years. Previously the Chairman of trustees he relinquished the role in order to be able to apply for the post of Director. Amongst his many contributions to date, Dave launched and took part in the first ever Lichfield Buskathon, a highly successful fund raising event for the charity, and has been a key organiser of the annual Fuse festival held in Beacon Park. Dave and his family have been residents of Lichfield for many years and his passion for music and the arts is one of the key assets that has made him the perfect candidate for the role as Director.
Brian Pretty, President of Lichfield Arts, said, “We are delighted to have Dave on board as our new Director. He has shown great commitment to Lichfield Arts and has the full support of the whole organisation in leading us forward to greater things”.
Dave is enthusiastic about his new appointment, “Music and the arts have always been a part of my life and so being involved with Lichfield Arts has always given me great pleasure. To be selected as the new Director at a key turning point for the organisation is a real privilege as the charity moves to develop and expand its offering in the coming years. I intend to devote myself fully to developing Lichfield Arts further as a major arts organisation in Lichfield District, presenting events and festivals for both residents and visitors alike and helping to boost the local economy”.« Back to previous page
