Fuse Community Choir to build on success
Following the success of the Fuse Community Choir’s first performance at the Fuse Festival in July, Lichfield Arts, the independent registered charity that promotes the arts in Lichfield District, have organised a further series of rehearsals leading to a performance at Lichfield Christmas lights switch on in November.
The choir sings well known pop and rock tracks and welcomes new members. The upcoming sessions are free, for all ages (under 16s must be accompanied by an over 18) and families are especially welcome. With no waiting list, no previous experience necessary, no audition or requirements to be able to read music, the choir is open to everyone who wants to sing for fun.
The first session will take place on Wednesday 23 October from 7.00pm to 9.00pm at Wade Street Church.
Further rehearsals will take place on Wednesday evenings at Wade Street Church on the 30th October, 6th, 13th, and 20th November leading to a performance on Sunday 24th November at the Christmas lights switch on in Lichfield City Centre.
Director of Lichfield Arts, Dave Simcox said:
The Community Choir’s first performance at Fuse was truly uplifting and inspiring. We do want it to continue as a permanent group and have secured the funding for a facilitator to lead this next series of rehearsals and to pay for the hire of rehearsal space. If you want to sing for fun, whatever your age, this is for you. We would love to see more families come along and take part.
The choir is supported with funding and help from Staffordshire County Council, Lichfield District Council Community Development Team and Lichfield City Council.
