Easter Caskaid Festival – The Bowling Green Lichfield

If you are looking for something different to do in Lichfield this Easter then go along to the Easter Cask-Aid Festival to be held at the Bowling Green Lichfield over Easter from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th April. Besides the normal excellent food the festival will feature up to 25 Real Ales and Ciders from all parts of the country over the weekend plus live music each day.
This is the first beer festival to be held at the Bowling Green it is to celebrate its entry into this year’s CAMRA Good Beer Guide but also to raise funds for its adopted charity Lichfield Arts. The music kicks off on the Friday at 8.30pm with the Richard Heath / Steve Layton acoustic duo playing a mixture of Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Beatles songs plus many of their own their inimitable Bluegrass, Hillbilly very enjoyable style.
Saturday evening will see the appearance of Lichfield five piece Funktional led by inspirational trumpeter Nick Dewhurst playing a fine mixture of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Pop from 8.30pm.
Sunday afternoon will see the appearance of Lichfield’s Funkiest, Grooviest Community big band BLAST OFF. Starting at around 2.30pm this 20 plus group of local musicians will be playing a mixture of instruments from Saxophone, Trumpets, Trombones, Flutes, Clarinets to a Tuba plus a dynamic rhythm section. They will take you on a journey to New York, Mississippi, and Latin America before touching back down in Lichfield.
Bowling Green manager Mohen Zaami said “I am delighted to be holding this festival.
