Lichfield Arts announces new co-directors for Fuse Festival 2018

Lichfield Arts is pleased to announce the appointment of husband and wife team Phil and Pam Beale as the new co-directors of its annual Fuse Festival. They will start work immediately on planning and preparing for the festival, which is due to take place from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th July 2018.

Fuse is the largest free music and arts community festival event in South Staffordshire. Last year’s Fuse was one of the most successful yet, with 18,000 people having enjoyed a vibrant celebration of arts, culture, creativity and community over the weekend in glorious summer weather.

Phil and Pam are not newcomers to Fuse. They have played a key role for the past few years within the volunteer team that is so important to making Fuse happen. What’s more they have for several years helped with the running of Lichfield Arts, the charity that puts on Fuse.

Pam said: “I am really excited to be working with Phil on running Fuse for 2018. We are both passionate about Lichfield Arts making a difference to the local community. As a free event with no barriers to entry or involvement, its flagship event Fuse contributes greatly to this vision”.

Phil added: “As a husband and wife team we just need to make sure our enthusiasm for Fuse doesn’t take over our home life too much – conversations over the dinner table could be very narrow in focus otherwise!”.

Being a free festival Fuse is highly reliant on a large team of volunteers and on financial support from sponsors, advertisers, donors and grant providers. So whether or not you were lucky enough to experience Fuse 2017, Phil and Pam would be delighted to hear from you if you can contribute: as a volunteer, providing financial support or by giving services in kind such as marketing, fundraising or infrastructure for the festival.
