Lichfield Arts is excited to announce a special event celebrating International Women’s Day 2025, Guildhall Lichfield, 8th March 2025.

By hosting this event, we aim to recognise the creativity, resilience, and power of women in the arts and provide a platform where their stories, perspectives, and talents can shine.

We are inviting women from Lichfield District to take part in this event. We are looking for proposals for performances, art work, and more to help create a varied programme. 

Why This Celebration Matters

Lichfield Arts believes that art and culture are vital platforms for driving social change. Celebrating and amplifying the voices of women in the creative sector is essential for ensuring a rich, diverse, and inclusive cultural landscape.

Submission Guidelines

1. Open to all women of all ages and backgrounds, inclusive of trans women.
2. Any artistic medium is considered: music, visual arts, photography, mixed media, dance, written word, spoken word, performance art, textiles and more.
3. Submissions are invited to align with the theme of International Women’s Day 2025 “Accelerate Action”, but this can be interpreted creatively.
4. Proposals must be accessible and appropriate for an intergenerational audience.
5. A bursary to support with development is available for the proposals selected.
6. Preference will be given to applicants resident in Lichfield District or wider Staffordshire.

Deadline for submissions: 31 ^st October 2024

If shortlisted you will need to be free for a 20 minute follow up conversation (online, on the phone or in person) so that we can hear more about your idea and for you to ask us any questions you may have. We hope to do this week beginning 25 ^th November.

Successful submissions will be showcased at the Guild Hall during our special International Women’s Day event on Saturday, 8th March 2025. You will need to be available on the day from 3pm.

• Give us a description of the work you’d like to submit, including the medium you work in.
• Why would you like to be part of this event?
• What message do you aim to convey through the work and if applicable, how does it tie in with the theme of Accelerate Action?
• Please outline the logistics: What type of space is required, how long does it last, how does it need to be displayed?
• Have you exhibited or performed this work before, and if so where and when?
