L2F Lichfield Festival of Folk Songwriting Competition 2022 – It’s Back! And it’s time to send in your entries.
We had some exceptional entries in 2021 and with the the return of L2F Lichfield Festival of Folk for 2022 we are looking forward to hearing and supporting new songwriting.
The competition is open to anyone who has an as yet unpublished, self-penned song that broadly fits into the global folk tradition (and that’s a pretty broad tradition).
There is a cash prize and the chance to win the opportunity to attend a Songwriting Forum with John Tams. John’s musical career has spanned five decades; he is a member of the Albion Band and Home Service and is also Patron of L2F Lichfield Festival of Folk. Finalists will be invited to perform their song at our Folk on the Farm event in September, and two of those finalists will be invited to the L2F Lichfield Festival of Folk weekend to perform their song at one of the concerts taking place.
L2F is proud of its continuing commitment to new writing, and the competition is aimed at identifying and promoting songwriting talent. This means that our judges are concentrating on the quality of the songwriting, not the production values. So, if you have a song in you and you want to share it with a wider audience then send your song to the L2F Lichfield Festival of Folk Songwriting competition.
Entry fee is £5.00 for a maximum of two songs. Songs should be no more than five minutes long.
Format of entries We are asking that entries are sent electronically. This could be in the form of an mp3 file, a link to YouTube or SoundCloud, or in another suitable electronic medium.
The team wish you good luck and look forward to receiving your entries.
