Midlands based Ricky Cool has fronted bands including The Icebergs, The Rialtos and The Hoola Boola Boys. He also co-founded The Big Town Playboys, the band that bought the talents of Mike Sanchez to Worldwide attention. He has also worked with mega stars such as Robert Plant and Billy Connolly.

Ricky Cool and the In Crowd are a five piece band with a large following, in the Midlands. Following many successful festival appearances such as The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival, Lancashire, Blues On The Farm, Sussex, The City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival, they are looking to spread their musical message to new areas and venues.

Ricky says, “The band members are all top class musicians with excellent pedigrees, who have worked with artists including Ruby Turner, The Beat, Carina Round, Linda Perry and Fine Young Cannibals.”

The band plays a wonderful gumbo of rhythm and blues, ska, soul and bluebeat. Original numbers and early Jamaican grooves are mixed in with the American to recreate the style that was synonymous with clubs such as The Flamingo and Count Suckle’s Roaring Twenties, so much a part of early Mod culture.

Ricky continues, “The music we play is timeless and our show is enjoyed by young and old alike. The enjoyment we have on stage rubs off on our audience and a great time is had by one and all.”
