Wildfire Folk and Chase Mist.

Sandfields Pumping Station, Saturday 25 June, 7.30pm.

Wildfire Folk was formed as a Youth Ensemble to play music as it should be played – with enthusiasm, energy and style. The band have gone from strength to strength with a demanding and varied repertoire and are performing across the country at a range of events such as Chester Folk Festival, Upton Folk Festival, the Acoustic Festival of Great Britain and more! Chase Mist are an eclectic mix of traditional and original songs and tunes with influences as diverse as the Jackson 5 and Queen.

Please note there will be no bar at this event but audience members may bring their own drinks at the discretion of the organisers. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available.

Wildfire Folk is the Lichfield Youth Folk Ensemble, a talented group of players aged 10 to 25, delivering high-energy folk music performances – think juicy riffs, mind-blowing percussive rhythms and a lively tune section, combined with an impressive professionalism and great showmanship.

In 2009, Wildfire Folk was formed by Lichfield Arts as a Youth Ensemble to play music as it should be played – with enthusiasm, energy and style! Created as part of the Lichfield Arts Folk Arts project, Wildfire started off as a one off workshop and was so immensely popular that it quickly developed into a band in its own right, resulting in their first performance at the 2009 Lichfield Fuse festival.

Nobody would have believed that 10 years on, Wildfire Folk had released 4 EPs and be playing to audiences at festivals and fundraising events around the country. During this time, Wildfire have had the opportunity to perform as the support to leading lights in the folk music community including Steve Knightley (Show of Hands)

Wildfire Folk are constantly looking for new members aged 10 – 25, who can play any instrument to a Grade 2 or equivalent standard or above.  If you are interested or know anyone who may be, please get in touch.

““Invigorating and danceable rhythms and tunes played with precision and energy by a refreshingly youthful gang of friends.””

— Steve Knightley (Show of Hands)
