Lichfield Arts launches Two New Opportunities for Young People!

Lichfield Arts Youth Council

Lichfield Arts is excited to announce the launch of its Youth Council Programme, offering young people aged 16-25 the chance to gain hands-on experience in the arts sector, develop valuable skills, and help shape the future of local arts.

The Youth Council will bring together a diverse group of young creatives who are passionate about the arts and eager to make an impact. Members will have the opportunity to work alongside the Lichfield Arts team, contribute to event planning, and influence arts programming in the local community.

Youth Council

A Unique Opportunity for Young People

As part of the programme, Youth Council members will:

  • Collaborate with Lichfield Arts to shape future plans and tackle challenges.
  • Meet up to four times a year to discuss ideas and influence the arts scene.
  • Support exciting arts events and projects, including collaborations with partner organisations.
  • Gain hands-on experience, mentoring, and training to develop industry skills.

This free opportunity is open to all young people within the age group, with travel expenses covered to ensure accessibility.

What to Expect

The programme includes three meetings in 2025, starting in May. Each session will be structured to provide learning opportunities and a platform for members to contribute their ideas.

  • Free tickets to Lichfield Arts events.
  • Volunteering opportunities, including at Fuse Festival.
  • Professional development and networking sessions.
  • Travel expenses covered.

Young Producers Programme

Go behind the scenes of outdoor events and learn what it takes to bring them to life. Work with experienced professionals and get hands-on with live event planning and production.

Perfect for anyone aged 16-25, curious about arts, events, or just looking for something creative and different to be part of!

What to Expect:

  • Hands-on Experience: Get involved in every stage of outdoor event production, from planning to execution.
  • Industry Mentorship: Work alongside experienced event professionals who will guide you through real-world challenges.
  • Creative Collaboration: Join a team of young producers, brainstorming ideas and bringing creative concepts to life.
  • Skills Development: Learn valuable skills in event logistics, budgeting, marketing, and more—great for building a future in the industry!

What’s the Commitment?

As part of the Young Producers Programme, you’ll need to commit to attending 3 key sessions between May- July , plus be available Fuse weekend (particularly Friday 11th July).

Extra Opportunities:

Alongside the core sessions, you’ll also have the chance to participate in other exciting activities throughout the programme.

This free opportunity is open to all young people within the age group, with travel expenses covered to ensure accessibility.
