In July 2026, Fuse returns to Lichfield – one of the region’s leading outdoor events and one of the only remaining free music festivals of its scale. To deliver it safely, professionally and joyfully, we’re now recruiting a volunteer delivery team.

It’s about making sure everyone has a great time in a safe environment. There are lots of different volunteer roles at Fuse, what ever your skills, we can use them and help develop them. You’ll have plenty of support from our team and our other experienced volunteers.

How much time do i need to commit?

As much or as little as you want. You can join us in the planning or prep or just at the event itself. During the event each shift will last two hours and we hope that you’ll be able to give us this as a minimum. You might want to cover several shifts or join us for just one – any time you can give will be appreciated!

Are there any restrictions on who can volunteer?

You need to be at least 16. That’s it. We are keen to encourage volunteers from all ages and backgrounds. Fuse aims to be fully inclusive in welcoming everyone. If you have access needs you’d like to discuss, please get in touch via [email protected]

How will I understand my role?

We run volunteer briefings at which we share with you a little info about what to expect and to give you chance to meet the team. You’ll also be given a quick briefing when you sign in for your shift.

Can I volunteer with a friend?

Definitely! Working with a friend or colleague adds to the fun. You’ll have chance to meet other volunteers of all backgrounds and ages, learning and sharing experiences.

What skills can I learn?

You’ll have a chance to get experience and develop skills in customer service, working in teams, and event support. You can also help out with our market research and fundraising. And if you are interested in working in event management, Fuse is a perfect opportunity to get some experience.

Let’s build Fuse 2026 together.

Sustainability at Fuse Festival

At Fuse Festival, we recognise that outdoor events have an environmental impact and we are committed to understanding, reducing, and taking responsibility for ours. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Beacon Park, protecting the spaces we use is central to how we plan and deliver the festival.

We are proud to be working in line with the Vision 2030 Climate Pledge, alongside others in the events and cultural sector, to take meaningful action on climate and sustainability. This means not only improving what we do now, but continually learning, measuring, and evolving our approach year on year.

What we’re doing

  • Reducing waste: We aim to minimise single-use plastics across the site, and use reusable cups at our bar.
  • Responsible waste management: We work with environmentally responsible waste partners to ensure that waste is processed sustainably, helping to maximise recycling and reduce landfill.
  • Supporting local: Wherever possible, we prioritise local suppliers, businesses, and services. This helps reduce travel-related emissions while supporting our local economy.
  • Understanding travel impact: Audience travel is one of the largest contributors to festival emissions. We are working to better understand how our audiences travel to Fuse Festival, so we can take informed steps to reduce this impact over time.
  • On-site stewardship: Our fantastic volunteers, including local community groups, play a vital role in keeping the site clean and protecting the park during and after the event.
  • Working with industry initiatives: We are part of a growing network of festivals and organisations committed to climate action, using shared tools, resources, and best practice to guide our journey. This includes working with organisations that support the arts and events sector in responding to the climate and ecological crisis.
  • Looking ahead: Sustainability is an ongoing process. As part of our commitment to Vision 2030, we are working towards better measuring our environmental impact, setting targets, and making more informed decisions each year.

We know there is more to do, and we are committed to doing better, openly and collaboratively.

How you can help

We encourage everyone attending Fuse Festival to consider their own environmental impact, whether that’s choosing more sustainable travel options, reducing waste, or supporting our efforts on site.

Together, we can help protect the places we love and ensure Fuse Festival continues to thrive for years to come.
