Volunteering with Lichfield Arts

Volunteers are central to everything Lichfield Arts delivers. From festivals and live events to community activity and year-round programmes, our volunteers help create welcoming, safe, and well-run cultural experiences across Lichfield District.

Volunteers contribute their time, skills, and energy across our work — supporting delivery, welcoming audiences, and helping turn ideas into lived experiences. Their commitment and professionalism make it possible for us to deliver activity at scale while maintaining a strong sense of community.

Why volunteer with us

Volunteering with Lichfield Arts is about more than supporting events. It’s an opportunity to:

  • be part of a friendly, inclusive team
  • meet new people and make connections
  • gain experience and develop skills
  • support culture in your local area
  • contribute to positive, shared experiences for others

We aim to make volunteering enjoyable, flexible, and rewarding, and we value the contribution of every individual, whatever role they take on or time they are able to give.

What our volunteers do

Volunteers support Lichfield Arts across a range of roles, which may include:

  • stewarding and welcoming audiences
  • Working the bar at our Guildhall events
  • front-of-house support at concerts and events
  • assisting with event set-up
  • supporting festivals and community activity
  • helping create safe and inclusive environments

Roles vary depending on the event or programme, and we work with volunteers to match interests, skills, and availability wherever possible.

Trustees

Lichfield Arts is also supported by a dedicated team of Trustees, all of whom volunteer their time. The Board is collectively responsible for the safe, lawful, ethical, and successful running of the organisation, providing strategic oversight and governance.

Our thanks

We place great emphasis on recognising and appreciating the contribution of our volunteers. Every role matters, and every contribution is valued as part of the collective success of Lichfield Arts and the cultural life of the district.
