Rhiannon Gallen
Volunteer Coordinator

What’s your role within Lichfield Arts, and what does it involve?

As the Volunteer Coordinator for Lichfield Arts, my role focuses on recruiting, supporting and organising our amazing army of volunteers. I help ensure we have the right people in the right places at the right times. My aim is to build and grow a dedicated volunteer community while creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone feels part of something special and meaningful. Behind the scenes, I’m here to provide training, guidance and ongoing support so that volunteers feel confident, valued and fully supported in their roles.

What drew you to get involved with Lichfield Arts?

I have a real passion for live music and after attending many Lichfield Arts events and having such a fabulous time, I was eager to get involved behind the scenes. I’ve really enjoyed putting on small community events in the past, and it felt like the right time to bring my skills to Lichfield Arts and use them on a much bigger scale.

What’s your background or professional experience in the arts or community work?

I’ve spent many years volunteering with school PTAs, helping to organise events and gaining a strong understanding of volunteer recruitment and charity governance along the way. Through this work, I’ve built up a wide network of local connections, which I’m excited to draw on to help place the right people in the right roles and support the continued growth of Lichfield Arts.

What do you enjoy most about being part of Lichfield Arts?

I absolutely love being part of a community and having that sense of belonging. Working for Lichfield Arts feels like you’re involved in something special that brings joy and fun to families and the wider community. Seeing the joy and happiness that our events bring to people and their lives makes me incredibly happy.

What’s something you’re proud of contributing to at Lichfield Arts?

Whilst I’m new to this role, I’m proud of trying to bring people together and helping to build a welcoming, supportive community where people feel like they belong.

What are you most excited about for the future of Lichfield Arts?

I’m really excited about getting to know new people, growing our volunteer community and creating a welcoming, vibrant environment where people from all backgrounds can come together, have a great time and give something back. I’d love to build a space where volunteers feel connected, valued and are proud to be part of the Lichfield Arts family.
