Sarah Walker
Trustee

What is your role within Lichfield Arts, and what does it involve?

My role is as one of the Trustees. This involves working with the other Trustees and the Chair to ensure the charity is run well and correctly, and to support the full-time staff by providing strategic oversight and guidance.

What inspired you to get involved with Lichfield Arts?

I have always loved the arts — music, theatre, and song — and, having recently moved to Lichfield, this is a great opportunity for me to give something back to my community in an area that I am passionate about.

I am particularly proud that LA strives to be inclusive, making the arts accessible to all and championing young people to grow and thrive.

What is your background or professional experience in the arts or community work?

I have previously worked as a charity trustee. When I was younger, I performed in an orchestra, and my grown-up son had his own band as a teenager, raising funds by playing gigs and recording a single. I therefore have first-hand experience of how empowering the arts can be for young people.

What do you enjoy most about being part of Lichfield Arts?

I enjoy the team spirit, passion, and focus of the whole team — from the Chair and other Trustees to the volunteers and full-time staff. Being part of such a great charity and helping to shape its future is a fantastic position to be in.

What are you most proud of contributing to Lichfield Arts?

Whilst I am new to my role, I hope that my energy, drive, and positivity will be beneficial to the work we are doing to move LA forward. My professional skills in strategy and project management will also help us with planning for the future.

What excites you most about the future of Lichfield Arts?

I am excited to see where we can take things — both in terms of larger-scale events and evening events — and it will be wonderful to see how emerging talent develops.
